ASTEC-BTI CONTINUES INNOVATION IN OPERATOR CABINS

New operator cabin designs and features puts Astec-BTI in the spotlight again.

BTI after careful customer feedback has redisgned 2 of its favorite operator cabins. The first redesign has been for its standard Underground cabin, where they have brought across much of the thinking garnered from their succeful range of underground mining vehicles. Read More.

 

The Underground Operator

The Structure

These cabins feature overly large 1/4 inch safety glass on all 3 sides, including a sliding glass panel for the  entry door. The cabin is a structurally reinforced steel frame with a 1/8-inch steel plate covering, the floor features a sub-frame for rigidity, 1/2-inch sound and movement dampening matting as well as fork lift access slots for easy movement. Single entry door features heavy duty reversible latch and hinges and 30-inch full width sliding glass panel.

Internal Features

Inside the cab LED Lighting is standard, 1 1/4-inch thick sound dampening insulation to keep ambient outside noise to a minimum. The standard chair is a floor mounted swiveling operators seat with a single post. A wall mounted circuit breaker and configurable 15 AMP convenience receptacle is also mounted internally.

Available options to the Underground Operator include

  • To keep dust out - Roof Mounted Cabin Pressurisation system, 120VAC 60Hz fan with 305 CFM Donaldson air filter (Optional voltages available).
  • To provide ultimate operator comfort - Roof mounted HVAC System for operator cabin (120 VAC, 60 Hz, 13,500 BTU air conditioner, 5,600 BTU heater 1/3 HP fan motor)
  • For super productivity - Ergonomic suspension seat with arm rest mounted joysticks, Swivel base,  replacing any stand-mounted joystick control station.
  • To keep your cabin in best condition - Protective expanded metal shroud infront of main window.

The Surface Pro

 

The Structure

Both Operator Cabins are built with the same heavy duty reinforced steel design. The Surface Pro features side door access, tilted glass for optimumum sightlines into either jaw or gyratory operations. Standard fetures include;

  • 1/8-inch steel plate covering
  • Reinforced Steel frame
  • 1/4 safety glass on all three sides of the cabin.
  • 1-1/4-inch thick sound and vibration dampening insulation on walls, ceiling.
  • Steel floor with reinforced frame, 1/2 sound and vibration dampening insulation matting.
  • Single entry door with heavy duty reversible hinges and door hardware.
